Ballet Coco Performs at Lummis Day Benefit, 4/26 at Casa de Adobe
Ballet Coco, who have drawn national attention for their extraordinary repertoire of Mexican folkloric dance, will stage a special performance at a Lummis Day Benefit, 6:30 pm-9:00 pm on Saturday, April 26 at the historic Casa de Adobe, 4605 N. Figueroa Street.
Guests will be able to enjoy a rare evening experience of the Autry National Center's historic Casa de Adobe and stroll around the courtyard of the beautiful 1918 adobe home, a faithful reproduction of an 18th century California rancho house.
Refreshments, included with the price of admission, will include sangria and tapas. Through a generous donation by the Arroyo Seco Journal, all proceeds from this benefit will underwrite production expenses and talent fees for the 3rd Annual Lummis Day Festival, to be presented by the Annenberg Foundation and the Autry National Center on Sunday, June 1.
Esteban Coronado and his adult group, Ballet Coco, along with his children's group, Ballet Fiesta, has been an integral part of the Southern California cultural landscape for many years and are credited with playing a key role in maintaining traditional culture in the Los Angeles performing arts scene. The group began the new year as featured performers aboard two separate Rose Bowl floats seen by millions of TV viewers around the world. |
