~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back in 2006, a group of local artists, community members and volunteers thought to create a FREE festival in celebration of the many diverse cultures that make up Northeast LA.
Now in its seventh year, the event has grown to become one of the most popular annual cultural events in all of Los Angeles.
Each June, thousands of people descend on the Lummis Home and Heritage Square to enjoy a day-long FREE Festival, that offers something for all members of the family.
As plans are unfolding now, it seems certain that this 7th Lummis Day, Sunday, June 3, 2012, is destined to be one of the best ever!
The Lummis Day Festival celebrates the patchwork of cultures that enriches the city. Artists represent Latino, Tagalog, Native American, Anglo and African-American traditions. Music include blues, rock, banda, salsa, jazz and country. Dance troupes represent Philippine, Mexican, Pacific Island, Irish and jazz dance traditions. Poets, painters and culinary artists, all with local connections, add to the Festival's collection of cultures.
When:
Sunday June 3, 2012, 1pm-7pm
