POETRY EVENTS
Poetry / Library Series
High on the list of popular events during Lummis Day is the poetry, which is supported by readings and presentations of local poets in the weeks preceding the Festival.
Last year the 2011 Lummis Day “Viva Poetry” series was spotlighted on public radio station KPFK 90.7 FM's “Poets' Café” program.
Suzanne Lummis leads the FREE "Viva Poetry" open readings, accompanied by noted Southern California-based poets. The Lummis Day Library Program Poetry Series is often held at public parks and libraries in the Northeast Los Angeles area.
Plans are underway now to schedule this year's Poetry Events.
** Here are the poetry events we'll hold to support this year's Lummis Day 7 -- Watch for more info as it becomes available **
